Jawahar Tomar —
the person behind JTS.

I started in 2006 at The Chopras — one of India's oldest overseas education firms — and stayed for eight formative years. Long enough to learn that most of what goes wrong for Indian students abroad was avoidable at the counseling stage, and long enough to know I wanted to practice differently.

In 2014 I left The Chopras to co-found a partner-led overseas education consultancy with peers who shared one conviction: fewer students, better counsel. It grew quickly, and with it came recognition I'm proud of — endorsement by Enterprise Ireland (the Irish government's enterprise and trade body) and the "Best Newcomer Agent of the Year 2018" award. Overseas universities began inviting us directly for engagement — a courtesy extended to a small set of Indian consultancies.

In 2020 I founded JTS Education as my own independent practice — commission-free, student-first, built around the advice I would give my own family. In 2022 I completed my MBA at Brunel University London. Sitting on the student side of international admissions — the paperwork, the second-guessing, the quiet panic before the first semester — sharpened how I counsel the families who now sit across from me.

Today JTS is the home for that full twenty-year practice. Across my career I have personally counseled more than 10,000 students, and 5,000+ have gone on to universities in the UK, Ireland, and Europe. The principles have not changed once.
